What Will Smith Confirmed for me

Sometimes I break my own heart, simply because I'm the type of person that looks at the bigger picture of things when it comes to a lot of my goals. When it instead I should be honing in on the small steps it takes to accomplish those goals.

The perfect is example is when I first started writing my book. I had this amazing idea on how my book would turn out once completed. But as I worked towards that idea it wasn't easy at all as I focused way too much on the bigger picture of things.

As anyone who has ever completed anything before knows that in the beginning and in the middle of that process, often times its not always easy to see your vision, especially when you still have a long way to go. I had to realized that the key to completing anything in life was and is to focus all your energy on completing one step at a time, for me the first step was creating my first sentence, then paragraph then chapter. Until all the pieces and steps completed my first book in it's entirety; This Is Not A Book, This Is A #ThrivingTool.

Actor, Will Smith confirmed my new found concept with the way he tackles projects as well. When asked what he learned after building a entire wall for his dad's store, when originally he told his daddy that he couldn't because he thought it was impossible for him and his younger brother, as they were 12 and 9 at the time. After a year and a half they did it, and that is when he learned the the key was laying one brick perfectly, then another and another until he had a wall, and saw how everything was to be approach that way to make accomplishing things easier. We must look it the same, Every small step is a brick that is creating our wall/goal.

Stress, Stress, go Away...Don't Come Back

Every time something has gone wrong in my life, I have focused too much of the why of the things. "Why did this happen?" "Why is it happening at this time." But no longer is that me. I had to ASK myself what does that help? And I realized it never helped anything.

Now when things go "wrong" I've realized that there are only two things that will happen either you'll conquer or be conquered by the circumstances. I had to make up my mind that the only real option was and is to conquer, because being conquered means to give up and give in. And if someone out there is depending on me or you to conquer then there is no such thing as being conquered.

The best thing to do is to move forward and count your blessings and I know it's easier said then done to count the good things that have happened when everything seems to be falling apart but it's necessary in order to move forward. In order to continue to be blessed in your life you have to learn to appreciate all that you have been through, to get to where you are going.

How to Get Closer to Your Dreams?

We all have dreams but why don't we all attempt to follow our dreams?

I think I have the answer and it is certainty. The reason we hesitate to follow our dreams is that we aren't sure if we'll reach them or not. Because think about if we all were 100% certain that chasing our dreams would get us the life that we desire, no one would delay another second. But it's the doubt and fears which keep us right where we are; far from our dreams.

I believe you have to create a sense of certainty in your head that your dreams will come true. "Fake it until you make it",  which means seeing your dreams come true way before they happen. And as you develop a sense of certainty that it will happen, you also increase your faith.

You may know where you want to go but no one knows how they'll exactly get there. So you MUST grow faith and realize that everything will fall into place as you move closer to your dreams.
Today, choose to focus on one step that gets you closer to your dreams.
And it starts with you focusing on the first step it takes to getting closer to your dreams then when the next step comes along give all of your focus to that step and so forth.

Facing Fears and Burdens

In Les Brown's Live Your Dream, he suggests the action of taking the time out to reflect on your personal burdens and fears. The same burdens and fears that has kept us from achieving our biggest dreams and  aspirations.
The unique aspect that I loved about Brown's suggestion that made me eager to actually try the process he suggested was that right next to the fear/burden he said reflect on how you should rid yourself of them.
I know the important of knowing your fears but thinking of a game plan to help rid yourself of those fears, thats on a whole another level.
I decided to take it a step farther and write down next to my fear and burdens how I am currently ridding myself of them or wish to. And my own personal list  is what I want to share with you, because even though you and I are two different people, we may have similar fears and my plan to rid mine can help you as well. And if you come up with ways to rid yours and write them below you can help me too.
Even though I have just only created my list, it already feels liberating knowing what I have to do to rid my fears. And unconsciously I have already been doing some of the things on my list already without event thinking about it.

                                        Ridding Burdens and Fears

  • Fear of failure cure: ACTION cures fear, doing the things I am afraid of doing.

  • Low self-esteem cure: Practicing self-confidence, and focusing on my positive attributions more.

  • Guilt cure: Remission of sins instead of forgiveness of sins, remission means they are wiped away completely and forgiveness means that they are merely only covered up.

  • Love cure: Focusing on the type of love and support I want, instead of what I don't have.

  • Lack of capital cure: Using every resource I have wisely, and attracting the money that I want in my life. Also creating passive income where I make money even when I don't work.

  • Circumstances cure: Being grateful for where I am and seeing and visualizing where I will be.
